The Woodcock-Muñoz Foundation sponsors a limited number of instructional materials grants to bona fide and approved graduate-level training programs in psycho-educational assessment, including cognitive abilities assessment, neuropsychological assessment, reading assessment, bilingual assessment, and language proficiency assessment. The purpose of the grants is to encourage the development of contemporary theory-based models of instruction in psycho-educational assessment. Through this program, the Woodcock-Muñoz Foundation purchases, and provides to each awarded institution, copies of selected individually administered assessment instruments for instructional purposes.

Several grant programs are available. To apply for a grant, a university training program must submit a letter of intent, preferably on university letterhead, and a proposed course syllabus. The letter of intent should describe the training program and the proposed uses of the test materials in the training program. To qualify for a grant, the proposed syllabus must document that the program will make sufficient use of the materials to justify the award. For example, the course syllabus must include a sufficient allocation of classroom instruction in administration, scoring, and interpretation of the instrument and practicum-type assessment requirements that require using the awarded instruments. Guidelines and criteria differ for each type of award.

Inquiries about the instructional materials grants should be directed to Fredrick A. Schrank, PhD, ABPP, Executive Director, at f.schrank@woodcock-munoz-foundation.org. The following instructional materials grant programs are available:
