The Woodcock-Muñoz Foundation research programs facilitate a bridge between cognitive theory and applied cognitive assessment practices. Collaborative research, particularly with early career professionals, is actively encouraged. The WMF external research program focuses on the investigation of profiles of cognitive abilities of individuals with diagnosed exceptionalities and the relationships among subject demographic characteristics, cognitive abilities, and academic achievement. The WMF internal research program consists of the following primary projects:
Research briefs for WMF–funded projects may be viewed at the WMF Research Bulletin Board. The Doctoral Dissertation Abstract Project is part of the Foundation's efforts to disseminate research findings that bridge the theory-to-practice gap in cognitive assessment.
